A medication tracker that stays on your iPhone
Your medication list says more about you than almost anything else on your phone. It shouldn't be on someone's server.
A list of what you take, when you started and how consistently you take it is one of the most revealing datasets about a person — it implies diagnoses you may never have told anyone. Most medication apps ask you to create an account before you can use them, because their features need one: sharing with a caregiver, syncing through a company's back end, a web dashboard. Kounts Dose doesn't have those features, and so doesn't need those servers. There's no sign-up screen because there's nothing to sign into. Your data sits in on-device storage, and if you want it on more than one device it goes to your own private iCloud — not through us.
How it works
No account, ever
No email, no password, no “sign in with” anything. You open the app and add a medicine. There's no profile of you because nothing ever created one.
On-device by default
Medicines, schedules, dose history and notes live in local storage on your iPhone. If the app were to vanish tomorrow, nothing about your prescriptions would exist anywhere else.
Sync that goes to you, not to us
Turn on iCloud sync and Dose uses CloudKit's private database — a store inside your own iCloud account that Apple gates and we cannot read. It's off by default, and it's the only network path your health content ever takes.
No ads, no trackers, no health analytics
The app doesn't show ads and doesn't have an advertising SDK to feed. Analytics are anonymous, aggregated feature counters — “a medicine was added” — never medication names, doses, schedules or history.
The details that matter
Read-only where it touches Apple Health
Dose can import your existing medication list from Apple Health so you don't retype it. That import is read-only and clearly labelled in Settings → Apple Health: it never writes anything back into your Health record.
Export is yours to initiate
CSV export exists so your history belongs to you and can leave when you want it to — you choose the moment and the destination. Nothing is uploaded on your behalf, and the export is escaped properly rather than being a spreadsheet-injection hazard.
The privacy is structural, not a policy promise
This is the important distinction. An app with servers can promise to be careful; an app with no account and no back end has nothing to leak, sell, subpoena or breach. The architecture is the guarantee — which is also why Dose doesn't offer caregiver sharing.

Questions, answered
Does Kounts Dose collect my health data?
No. We never receive your medication names, doses, schedules or history — there is no account and no server of ours for them to reach. Analytics are limited to anonymous, aggregated feature counters that contain no health content.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Everything — reminders, logging, supply tracking, history — runs on-device and needs no connection. A network is only involved if you turn on iCloud sync or make a purchase.
What happens to my data if I turn on iCloud sync?
It's stored in the private database of your own iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit, so it moves between your devices without passing through any server we operate. We can't read it. Sync is off unless you switch it on.
Can I share my medication list with a family member or carer?
No — and that's deliberate, because sharing is exactly what would require accounts and server-side storage. If caregiver sharing matters more to you than this privacy model, an app such as Medisafe is built for it and we'd rather point you there.
What if I lose my phone?
With sync off, your data lives only on that device, so an iPhone backup (iCloud or Finder) is your recovery path — worth checking your backups are on. With sync enabled, signing into iCloud on a new iPhone restores it.
