The closest thing to Round Health

Round Health set the bar for calm, beautiful medicine reminders. It's gone from the App Store — here's what comes closest.

Round Health was, for years, the app people recommended when someone asked for a medicine reminder that didn't look like a hospital form. Circadian Design built something quiet and well-mannered — a circular daily view, generous reminder windows instead of single hard pings — and its users were loyal. As of July 2026 we can't find it available on the App Store in any region we checked, and Circadian Design had announced it was joining the delivery pharmacy Alto. If you're here because your reinstall failed or a new phone left you without it, this page is about what to move to. Kounts Dose is the closest thing in spirit that we know of — and we'd say so even more carefully if we hadn't built it, so the free alternatives are listed too.

The short answer

For Round Health's calm, designed feel plus supply tracking it never had, Kounts Dose is the nearest match at $9.99 once. For free, MyTherapy is the most capable, and Apple Health's built-in Medications may cover a simple regimen.

Where each app is stronger

Where Kounts Dose is stronger

The same restraint, and it's still here

Dose is trying to do what Round did: make a medical chore feel calm. A cream interface rather than clinical white, a colour and icon per medicine, a Today screen that shows what's due and nothing else — no streak fireworks, no adherence percentage grading you. And critically, it's an app you can still download and will still get updates.

It adds the thing Round didn't do

Round told you when to take a pill. Dose also knows how many you have: it counts your supply down as you log, shows “about N days left”, and nudges you once, before it's urgent. If you ever ran out of a prescription while dutifully tapping a reminder every day, this is the missing half.

Modern iOS, properly used

Interactive widgets on the Home and Lock Screen with a working Take button, Take/Snooze/Skip from the notification, critical alarms that ring through Silent mode and Focus, full Dynamic Type and a real VoiceOver pass. Round predated most of this.

Where Round Health is the better choice

Round's reminder windows were a genuinely better idea

Instead of one alarm at a fixed minute, Round gave a window — reminding you at the start, middle and end until you confirmed. It suited real life better than a single ping. Dose uses scheduled times with snooze and a follow-up nudge for repeatedly missed slots, which is not the same design, and if the window was what you loved, you may find Dose stricter.

It was free; the free options still exist

If cost is what matters most, MyTherapy is free and more feature-rich than either, and Apple Health's Medications feature is already on your phone with Critical Alerts and Apple Watch logging. Try those before paying anyone, including us.

No app will import your Round data

With Round unavailable, exporting your old history probably isn't possible any more. Whatever you switch to, you're starting the log fresh — the medicine list is quick to rebuild, but past adherence data is likely gone, and no alternative can honestly promise otherwise.

Questions people actually ask

What happened to Round Health?

Circadian Design, the studio behind Round Health, announced it was joining the delivery pharmacy Alto. As of July 2026 we could not find Round Health available on the App Store in any region we checked, and its listing pages return errors. We're not speaking for the company — check with Alto or Circadian Design if you need a definitive statement about the app's future.

What's the closest app to Round Health?

In feel, a calm and deliberately minimal tracker rather than a clinical dashboard — which is what Kounts Dose aims at, with the addition of supply tracking Round never had. What Dose doesn't reproduce is Round's reminder windows, which pinged at the start, middle and end of a window instead of at one fixed time.

Is there a free app like Round Health?

MyTherapy is the strongest free option, though it's a broader health journal than Round ever was. Apple Health's built-in Medications feature is free, already installed, supports Critical Alerts and lets you log from an Apple Watch — for a simple regimen it may be all you need.

Can I get my Round Health history back?

Probably not, if you can no longer open the app — and if you still can, export or screenshot anything you need now. Any app you move to will start its log from the day you set it up.

Try the calm one.

Free with one medicine, no account, and nothing leaves your iPhone. If it isn't for you, you've lost nothing.
