Questions, answered
Is my medication data private?
Yes. Your medicines and history live only on your own devices - no account, no ads, no data collection. Optional iCloud sync stores data solely in your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read.
Does Kounts Dose need a subscription?
No subscription required. It's free with one medicine, and a single one-time purchase - Dose Plus - unlocks unlimited medicines, more than one person, the full scheduler, logging from widgets, iCloud sync, the printable PDFs, history export and more prescriptions, for good. A small monthly plan exists only for people who prefer to pay as they go.
Can it remind me to refill before I run out?
Yes. Dose counts your supply down as you log doses, shows about how many days you have left, and nudges you to refill before it's urgent.
What kinds of schedules can it handle?
Several times a day, specific weekdays, every few hours or days, cycles like 21 days on and 7 off, fixed-length courses, step-down tapers, and as-needed medicines. Each scheduled time can carry its own dose amount, including half or a quarter of a tablet.
Does it work on iPad, Mac and Apple Watch?
Yes. Since version 1.4 it runs on iPad, laid out for the bigger screen, and as a native Mac app on macOS 26 or later; one purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. The Mac can't ring a critical alarm, so it shows a notification while your iPhone and iPad ring, and it has no camera, Apple Health import or widgets. The Apple Watch app, since 1.3, shows today's doses with a Take button and works with the free medicine too.
Does it give medical advice?
No. Kounts Dose is a personal organiser, not medical advice. It never recommends dosages or checks drug interactions - always follow the guidance of your doctor or pharmacist.
